Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me give my students snacks which they need throughout the day, but also which I use for positive reinforcement. I've been using this systems for over 8 years and it has impacted students in a positive way. I wish I could continue this system forever, but unfortunately I have a lot of students and not enough resources, so the snacks don't last very long. It helps with classroom management and also for those students who need a pick-me up throughout the day. We also have a student store in my Spanish class, which hopefully with your help will be filled with snacks for our students to practice their Spanish speaking skills and Spanish discourseA snack can go a long way. I have students who play sports after school or let's be honest are still hungry. They are literally at school from 7 am to 6 pm. I know this because I also serve as the volleyball coach and see it first hand in the classroom and outside of the classroom. Growing up I remember the necessity of eating and that feeling of not being full. My goal is to make sure that students are getting enough to eat, but also are motivated/encouraged in the classroom to be able to fully reach their full potential. That snack could be the difference in them reaching their goals and you can make that happen. Thank you!
