My Project

I will be working in a self contained class that contains a total of 12 children of 2nd and 3rd graders. Most of my kids need more help when it comes to being able to focus on the task at hand and would sometimes require a break in our "calm corner" where they relax and refocus by using sensory toys (stress balls, kinetic sand, bubble wands, etc.) in this project. My job is to provide a positive and nurturing guide for students and attend to their physical, personal, academic, and emotional needs.

All students tend to feel frustrated or need a moment to refocus.

With this project, my intention is to help them with refocusing with the task at hand or help them to feel calm and able to go back to working at task at hand. Working with children of 12, there are times that these kids show their frustration and need a moment in our clam corner to be able to refocus and calm down before they go back to their task.
