Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I elementary school located in Houston's diverse community of the East End. The majority of my students come from low-income households and are recent immigrants. They are faced with many challenges both inside and outside of the classroom. My students do not let the obstacles they face prevent them from learning. They have a thirst for knowledge and bring a diverse culture to our school.

My students attend online or face-to-face classes eager to learn and are supportive in helping others learn too.

They love learning and cannot wait to return to school! They really flourish in a classroom that is full of engaging activities that allow them to problem solve and create.

My Project

Our classroom is in need of organization. Our Writing Center is a bit untidy and unwelcoming. The students do not have a well-defined space for their writing instruments and many times items are often misplaced or lost. New storage bins would really help reduce clutter and create a better organization in our classroom.

An organized classroom makes for a more productive learning environment.

The Deflect-O Interlocking compartment storage bins will help my students and me retrieve classroom materials quickly. Having student-centered spaces will entice my learners to value and care for the storage bins and stay organized.
