Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a science/STEM teacher in the South Bronx, NY, which is one of the most poverty-stricken areas in New York City. My elementary school also houses one of the largest shelter populations of children in all of NYC. I would love to give my very energetic scientists a place that gives them different options for seating flexibility, setting them up for more success.

My little scientists spend so much of their day at school, I would like to make it as comfortable and calming as possible.

My students are energetic scientists and need different stimulation when completing science investigations or intervention work. My students love to feel relaxed and at times lay on the class rug which we all know is not the cleanest place to be. Being able to offer different options for seating will put a barrier between the student and the floor setting them up for more success. I feel that having seating options will help them relax, be focus in their learning. Thank you for supporting my project and giving my students more choices in seating.
