My Students
I try to make my classroom welcoming and inviting for my kindergarten scholars. I like to create centers around the room so my students can work in small groups. Comfortable and portable seating would be a great benefit for my students during this time.
My 25 kindergarten students come from an urban neighborhood in a high poverty area.
They attend a K-8 public school. Despite certain disadvantages, they come to school every day excited and ready to learn. For many of my students, this is their first time in school, and I want them to have a positive outlook on school.
My Project
My students need soft seats so they can move from their desks to work in small groups throughout the classroom. My students will be able to use these seating options during guided reading time and workshop time when they will be completing centers or spending time reading. They will be able to easily move these comfortable seats to different parts of the room.
My students need a durable mobile storage center with 2 open shelves that come stocked with 20 colorful wipe-clean vinyl cushions along with 12 extra soft seats.
This project will help my students work in small groups.
By not limiting their seating choices, it will give them the flexibility to move to various work centers and be comfortable.
