My Students

As a counselor, I work with all kinds of students in grades K-5! My students range in socioeconomic status, but many are on the lower end. Our students deal with all kinds of trials inside and outside of our school.

So many of the students who visit my office want to succeed in school and in their personal lives.

They are amazing kids. Many of them need a private space to deal with their thoughts and emotions. Once our students are able to deal with their emotions and trials, they will be able to better focus on the educational lessons at hand.

My Project

Our students don't have a place they can go to express themselves in whatever way they need. Many of our students need a place to calm down, to be angry, and to be sad; frankly, they need a place to just be who they are right now.

Just like adults, children need to be heard and understood in their moments of crisis.

Many of our students are going through trials in their homes and personal lives. We need a rug, storage baskets, a Teddy Bear and other materials to create a safe place. Having a place that feels comfortable and safe is vital for our students who may not have that anywhere else. It is my hope to provide such a spot for our students.
