Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Theater arts supplies, such as makeup, costumes, and t-shirts, can make a significant difference in students' learning in a number of ways.

First, they can help students to develop their imaginations and creativity.

When students are given the opportunity to create and perform their own stories and characters, they are forced to think outside the box and come up with new and innovative ideas. This can help them to develop their problem-solving skills and learn to think critically.

Second, theater arts supplies can help students to develop their communication skills. When students perform in front of an audience, they need to be able to project their voices, speak clearly, and make eye contact. This can help them to become more confident communicators in all areas of their lives.

Third, theater arts supplies can help students to develop their teamwork skills. When students work together to create a production, they need to learn to collaborate and compromise. This can help them to become better team players in the classroom and in the workplace.

Finally, theater arts supplies can help students to develop their self-confidence. When students perform in front of an audience and receive positive feedback, it can boost their self-esteem and make them feel more confident in their abilities. This can carry over into all other areas of their lives.

What are your goals for this project?

My goals for this project are to provide lower-privileged K-5 students in Brooklyn with the theater arts supplies they need to succeed. I want to help them to develop their imaginations, creativity, communication skills, teamwork skills, and self-confidence. I also want to help them to appreciate the arts and to see theater as a way to express themselves and connect with others.

Some of my students have never been to the theater.
