My Project

We do lots of read alouds and whole group learning time, and having a carpet is so important for these times! It is a new spot in the room to sit so it allows them to move, it also provides a designated area for them to sit. During independent work time they also are encouraged to work around the room and sitting on a carpet is so exciting for students! When they come into the room I don't want them to just see desks and chairs where they feel they are only allowed to sit. I want them to feel safe and I want them to have a comfortable and cozy room.

Overhead lights in the classroom can cause headaches and strain eyes.

Having dim lighting is so important and helpful. It helps create a space that is calm and comfortable, but it also doesn't cause students any eye strain or headaches that bright overhead lights can cause.
