My Students

My first grade class is comprised of 24 amazing students, most of whom come from bilingual homes and receive free lunch. This is an ICT class with the majority of students working below their grade level.

My hope is that by the end of the school year they will be able to read and also their computation skills will be on grade level.

I would like to give my students the chance to gain the skills for the next grade.

My Project

It's circle time! Many of you can recall your teachers making that announcement to start your day in kindergarten or first grade. During this time children learn to socialize with their classmates, learn the letters of the alphabet and letters' sounds. The foundation for many basic skills were attained right there on the rug located in a corner in the classroom.

My students need a rug to start the new school year.

They did not have a rug last year and it was a lot of work setting up those chairs for meeting time in the mornings and replacing them.
