Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in need of a carpet to appeal to their spacial and active abilities. Each morning after eating breakfast in the classroom, students gather on the carpet area for most of the morning, in which students struggle to stay in their assigned sitting area and focus on the current easel used.

My students attend a Title 1 school in East New York, Brooklyn, in which all receive free breakfast and lunch.

Students are from many cultures, backgrounds, and have different learning styles. They have many special difficulties and struggle with attention to detail.

My Project

Through the use of the colored and aligned carpet, students will be able to stay focused on the area assigned to them in order to be successful in reading, writing, and math instruction. Students will be able to utilize the easel through the use of storage of manipulative's needed for reading, writing, and math, all within the reach of their hands.

My goal with the carpet and the easel is to encourage students to work harder and be successful by using both as an engagement tool in which students and teacher can work together.

They will aid my students in paying attention throughout the day with instruction and routines in the classroom.
