Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of motivated, excited, and ambitious learners in a Title 1 school. Many come from single-parent, low-income households. These students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom on a daily basis.

Despite the challenges they face every day, these boys and girls enter my ICT classroom with bright eyes, big smiles and are motivated to succeed.

My Project

Many, if not all, of my 1st graders had learned virtually the past year and a half. Meaning they simply did not have that in-classroom experience. They were not able to hold books in their hands and flip pages. This year I have spent much time dedicated to our classroom library and giving my students the opportunity to read and borrow as many books as they would like. I have noticed that many of them simply do not have access to books at home. I am asking for new reading books to add variation to our library. These new books will be used both in the classroom and at home.

Help me provide them with a bright and organized classroom full of books.
