My Project

"Please remember to bring your Chromebook and charger with to class every day," I tell my students on the first day of school. Do they remember? Most of the time, they do! But everyday there will be at least a few who show up without this tool that has become essential in a 21st century classroom.

My job is to remove the barriers that stand in the way of my students learning and that means having the right supplies and equipment in my room, including spare laptops.

My students face a lot of challenges. Maybe they worked late the night before, earning money to help their family. Maybe they were caring for a younger sibling while their parent worked an extra shift. Maybe they were distracted by any number of difficulties they face. Or maybe they just plain forgot their Chromebook at home because they are kids who are still learning to take responsibility for organizing themselves.

No matter what the reason, I need to be able to quickly get them a reliable back-up Chromebook because many lessons depend on having one.
