Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At my school, we see 470 students on a weekly basis. Their school is their home away from home and my class gives them that little joy they need in their day. This is where the "Reading Restaurant" comes in!

Unfortunately, some students have never experienced dining in a restaurant, so my goal is for students to come into the library, get greeted by elves and let the elves work their magic!

Elves (5th graders) will greet our students, walk them to their table to be seated, hand them a menu for an appetizer (a poem), an entree (a read aloud), and dessert (a joke). This is something I would love to continue doing but I need help! I would like to have students decorate their own Gingerbread man and then eat it.

Please help us get the supplies needed to decorate Gingerbread cookies to make this an awesome Reading Restaurant experience for my students at SES.
