Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students work hard, even if they struggle. They are kind to each other and understand that there are some in the classroom with special needs. More than 90% of my students are living in poverty, and yet they will still donate spare change to any fundraisers that help the sick or the needy.

My students deserve the best education possible, which is hard to get with the way our school budget has been so severely cut.

I want for them to know that I believe in them and in all of their potential and will find a way to get the supplies that they need even when the budget won't allow for it. They deserve to have a classroom that feels comfortable, safe, and like a home. We are like a family in my classroom. My students know that I take care of them.

My Project

Students work hard in my room and produce lots of work. With all of this work being produced, it can be very easy to lose, misplace, or wrinkle their work. This is why having a color coordinated system is so important.

We need sturdy folders to store student's work in the subjects of reading, phonics, writing, math, and social studies.

We also need folders that can be dedicated to homework, "Do Now" work, their best work to show off at parent teacher report card conferences, and personal information with notes from parents. This will help make for a super organized system, Disorganization causes confusion. By donating to this project, there will be more organization and it will help the students think clearly (I will think clearer too and be a better teacher for my students). It will also help students keep pride in their work by keeping it pristine.
