Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I went online to purchase a few colors for the holidays and I could not afford to purchase paper on my own. I was surprised to see the increase in cost for art paper. So, I decided to ask for help from DonorsChoose and the wonderful individuals and families that donate to DonorsChoose. Having colored art paper available in the classroom helps to bring learning to life. I am trying to replenish my art paper supply for the children to maximize learning for the coming units of curriculum.

Creating art projects that coincide with the curriculum helps my children to learn and retain the information taught.

We are in need of paper in certain colors to enhance our cultural learning of traditions and holidays. We write on colored paper to add a change of pace to literature and writing. Writing persuasion letters or narrative stories is so much more fun when colors are involved. Creating puppets to represent characters from our stories makes recreating the stories more memorable, especially for my English Language Learners. Colored paper adds life to our curriculum and our classroom. Thank you for considering my class for your donation.
