My Students

Attending a small high school in a high poverty neighborhood, my students need more help to prepare themselves for college. This is daunting for them. Most college prep others take for granted are not available to them.

My students are an eclectic group of characters who genuinely care about each other in a full-inclusion high school.

Almost anything goes in a respectful manner. Both students and teachers want success on every level. At the same time, a college level class, for children of immigrants who are struggling with many challenges, is a bit over their heads. Yet, they took the challenge.

My Project

My future APUSH students have not sat in a traditional classroom since the world turned upside down in March 2020. They are about to enter a six-credit college class, and they have not experienced anything like it as of yet. They are very frightened.

Your help with this project will assist students with confidence and academic success.

With these books, students will have a concise way to review AP US History material without being overwhelmed by the vast minutiae of the class. They need a tremendous amount of support in gaining the skills they lost during interrupted instruction. The books will help students master material in manageable chunks and seem less daunting.
