About My Students

The students in my yearbook class spend the majority of their school year creating a great yearbook! Unfortunately, we do not have a printer.

My yearbook students ask me all the time if they can print their pages out for their 8th grade yearbook. They all want to be able to see what they have created for their yearbook before their pages are submitted to be published. I have to tell them no because I don’t have a printer in my classroom. I often have to print the pages at home. I told them about Donorschoose.org, and they wanted to see if they could get a printer. They work so hard all year long to create a great yearbook. I'm hoping that we through Donorschoose.org my yearbook class can get the printer that they need.

If we receive a printer our yearbook will look better than years past. My student’s pages will look amazing and their wish for a printer can become a reality. A printer will help them can create an amazing yearbook. Students in my class will develop their graphic design and editing skills by having access to a printer in this project. Having the availability to print out their work immediately will help them with the editing of their pages. Creating a successful yearbook will inspire some of my students to become future graphic designers.

In Their Own Words

Our project idea is to be able to get printer so that we can see and feel the pages that we create for our 2016 yearbook before we submit our pages. When we create our yearbook pages online, it is hard to see if there are any errors. If we had a print out of what we made it would be so much better. Our teacher does not have a printer in her classroom, and we know that she would love to have one too.

If we receive just one printer from DonorsChoose.org, it will make a huge difference. Our yearbook will look so good and there wont be any mistakes. Our teacher will help us by showing us how to use the printer, and she will also make corrections on our yearbook page print outs, and then we can go back and make the changes online.

This project is really important because we are creating a book that will last forever. We will be able to look back many years from now and remember all the wonderful memories that we had in middle school. We want everything in our yearbook to be perfect, and a printer will help us do that.
