This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Wow, with the school year almost over, it is soon time to say good bye. My students look forward every day to building new experiences. Our Pre-K center serves only Pre-K, which means that they will be going to a different school for kindergarten. Every June, we organize a Stepping Up Ceremony to celebrate their achievements. This year might look a bit different. While the technicalities are being worked out, our students are eagerly singing, dancing and showing their skills.

Many of our students have made so much progress learning English, socializing, thinking critically, being creative and so much more.

Our students and families have worked so hard that we would like to celebrate their accomplishments. Our parents have been looking forward to their Stepping Up Ceremony for awhile. Some families were forced to quit their job due to the pandemic and other families were no longer employed due to the pandemic. I want to give all of my students a graduation cap and gown as a Pre-K memory as well as some learning manipulatives to continue learning throughout the summer!

My Project

Our Pre-K students have had so many changes this year. From class changes to shifts in their learning environment, to family changes, its time to make one of their last Pre-K experience memorable. The cap and gowns that are funded will be given to our students to wear on their Stepping Up Ceremony. Students have begun practicing for their ceremony and are excited to show what they have learned. Students will also actively participate by decorating their cap and make additional decorations.

Let's make Pre-K memorable for the right reasons!

Since this is many of their first school experience, this will be a day to remember. Thank you so much for your time!
