Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at a high-poverty school. Most of my students did not attend preschool and receive free or reduced-price lunches. Many of these children are English learners, so while they are learning the essential basic skills for their educational foundation, they are also learning a new language!

My students love to learn and work very hard every day.

They generally come to me with little or no prior experience with using academic tools such as pencils or crayons. They make incredible gains in this one short year of school and are absolutely amazing kids!

My students need small child-sized chairs for small group activities. These chairs will support proper posture as they learn and especially as they begin to write. It is a simple thing that matters so much!

My students would be able to complete tasks more effectively with these chairs as they would be seated comfortably while working.
