This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of the most important thing we can teach our children is how to regulate their emotions. I would like to create a dedicated calming area for my kindergarten students. This calming area will have fidgets, sensory tools, and other resources that will help them self regulate when big feelings arise. It will be a safe place for students to process their emotions without distraction.

It can be difficult how or why they are feeling these BIG emotions and knowing how to safely control them.

With these items, they will have guidance and materials to help them make better choices when dealing with their emotions.
