This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My class is full of 27 kindergarten students that are excited to learn. We are an IB PYP candidate school. More than half of my class is considered language learners. I also have 5 students that are on an IEP. Our area is high in poverty. My families are always willing to help in any way that they can. If they had more they would give more. My students love helping each other as we collaborate during our lessons. Kindness is key in our room.
My Project
My students are learning about personal space being new to school. It is important for them to learn how to get along with others. Having a space for everyone to fit helps them feel like they belong. Knowing how to be respectful to others allowing them to have their personal space helps everyone. Being new to the grade level I was unable to have everything for my classroom. Our school has always had 3 kindergarten classes. Adding my class gave us 4 classes. Being added last meant that there were not enough rugs for everyone. My students deserve a rug where they all fit.
