My Students

Walking into a classroom and having a productive day goes a lot smoother when the classroom is organized, as opposed to messy. Can you imagine? I definitely wouldn't want my students to experience that kind of classroom disarray for their transition into middle school.

My students enjoy learning!

It's fun for them but it has to be something that they can put their hands on, build, or be apart of to gain the full experience. They thrive on organization and the ability to independently know where things are located in their classrooms. Located in the nation's capital, our school is in an area in which resources are low, but we don't allow it to impact our ability to learn!

My Project

An established routine works best with my students! With the materials requested, students are able to truly be self sufficient in the classroom. They can pull information from their own files, label their own materials, and complete assignments on their own. This truly fits into our school mission of students becoming owners of their learning. The way I see it, it's hard enough remembering locker combinations, room numbers, and rotation schedules. Now, they won't have to worry about where things are in the classroom. The hanging file folders can be placed in crates, allowing students to easily find classwork, extra assignments, project information, and study guides! We can use the sharpie markers for labeling and creating non-linguistic representations. The division balls can be used during centers as a fun and creative way to practice math drills. My favorite items are the Retell a Story cubes in which students are able to answer questions based on texts that are presented to them!

This donation will improve our classroom based on the utility of the items requested.

Students are able to manage their materials while concurrently engaging in ongoing organization skills. We're really hoping you can help us establish a place for everything!
