Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a title 1 school in the Bronx where students come to school ready to learn despite their circumstances Many of our students live in the housing projects that surround my school, shelters or in single parent homes. Despite some of these struggles our students see our school as their second home. They feel safe and love by all of the staff. We are true community of learners striving to be a little better each day. Organization and storage are key to effectively teaching, setting up and running a classroom.

The materials that I am requesting will help tremendously in allowing me to organize the materials my students needs in a visually and organized way, this will allow for more student independence in the classroom too.

My students will be able to locate materials a lot faster, know where to put things back and in turn this will allow more time focused on learning. It will also save us time with transitions. This materials will give my students a sense of ownership in the classroom and safe places to store their work, supplies, etc.
