My Project

Sometimes you just need to be in one place in order to complete a project, work with a group, build a skill, do some research, learn and grow, etc. but that doesn’t always mean that you have to be still! With a day packed full of lots of sitting even movement breaks are not enough for those students who are wired to move.

This is step 1 of a multi-step process to better support the wide-ranging learning needs of my students and build a foundation for greater student agency and independence.

In this phase, I am focused on providing diverse learning options specifically for students who need to stand in order to focus. Providing a standing desk that allows for small continuous motion, will support student focus for the movers, as well as for those who get distracted easily by others. But it also sends the message, that all learning styles are welcomed and supported!
