My Students

I have the privilege of teaching 22 wonderful and inspiring first grade students each day.

My students come to school eager to learn and discuss the material that we are learning.

My students have a variety of needs that I strive to meet within the classroom through differentiated learning and small group work. We endeavor to identify areas where students can showcase their gifts and talents and areas where students can improve. We believe that every child is gifted, and that it is our job to uncover those gifts!

My Project

It is my belief that carpets produce a comfortable place for teachers and students to expand their learning experiences. My students need a clean and cozy carpet where every member of the classroom has their own spot. Having their own space on the carpet allows them to utilize manipulatives during math class or their white boards during phonics lessons. If they need to turn and talk to their partner, a spacious carpet gives ample room to switch positions and helps the lesson run more smoothly.

Building a comfortable learning community within my classroom is very important to me.

I feel that a classroom carpet would help build this learning community.
