Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Posting pictures in a classroom of three-year-olds is an important task. You have to make sure the pictures are at eye level for the students and you have to plan what the children will learn from seeing the pictures. Seeing their pictures posted in their cubbies, on the birthday chart, or on the attendance chart, creates a sense of community when they walk into the room. My students have been working on learning classroom routines and having pictures in their cubbies has helped with morning transitions. They see their picture and know that every morning their belongings go in their specific spot. Being the youngest in the school, it is important that my students are exposed to letters, numbers, shapes, and colors often so they can gradually learn to identify them. Having images posted around the classroom will serve as a crucial part of their learning experience.

The printer I am requesting will allow my students to be exposed to more educational resources.

I will print images of items related to specific themes, which will be placed within centers so my students can refer to them as they build and explore materials. I will be able to print pictures of my students working on projects, to help them make connections between what they previously learned and what they are working on. I will also add pictures of what they can do in each center and the materials found in each bin to help motivate my students to explore with confidence. They will know where things belong and will be able to do so independently.

Creating a classroom environment that is welcoming, educational, and captures the development of my students is important to me and I need your support to help print the pictures needed around the classroom!
