My Students

Our school serves students in grades K-6 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment. As a result, we are consistently one of the top-performing schools in our area every year. My students are encouraged to work collaboratively, think critically, analyze, and synthesize information while completing project-based learning assignments.

My students are 28 culturally diverse 3rd graders.

My students have individual needs and varied interests and attend school each day with the desire to learn and do their best. These children are always asking questions, reworking problems when one solution doesn't work, and approaching their work with confidence. It is a privilege to work with these aspiring scholars each day!

My Project

I am looking for books and resources that will help build compassion and empathy along with reinforcing grade-level reading skills!

These delightful and informative stories weave in meaningful messages about kindness and diversity while being great mentor texts for reading skills and strategies.

Teaching kids to appreciate and celebrate diversity is a top priority in today’s global landscape. These picture books and resources will encourage my students to learn about multiple cultures and also allow them to see themselves represented in main characters. Thank you for any consideration and support you can lend to this project!
