My Students

I teach STEM - Technology in a PreK-8, Title I-funded school in East Flatbush Brooklyn, New York. Many of my students come from low socioeconomic households, and are currently placed in temporary housing. All students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My Project

I have a space in my classroom where students can go and collect pins with a picture of a camera. This is a signal to me that they would like me to take and print a picture of their work to share because are proud of themselves. It will be extremely useful if we can have a portable printer to instantly print moments and creatively stick them on a bulletin board for display.

Students will be able to show off their pictures and print out multiple copies for portfolios and families.

The printer will help boost student self-esteem by providing a space for them to showcase their excellence.

I am so excited for the new school year ahead and would love the help of the project to help me get there.
