My Students

Our school serves students in grades K-6 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment. As a result, we are consistently one of the top-performing schools in our area every year. Our goal is to prepare our students for success in high school and college and have them career ready! My fourth-grade students are encouraged to work collaboratively, think critically, analyze, and synthesize information while completing project-based learning assignments.

We are one of the lowest funded districts in the country!

My students are 35 culturally diverse children with varying backgrounds, abilities, and talents. They are students with individual needs and varied interests who come to school each day with the desire to learn and do their best. These children are always asking questions and approaching their work with confidence. It is a privilege to work with these aspiring scholars each day who demonstrate a growth mindset.

My Project

I am looking for books that will help build compassion and empathy along with reinforcing grade-level reading skills!

These delightful and informative stories weave in meaningful messages about the beauty of uniqueness, kindness, and diversity while being great mentor texts for reading skills and strategies.

Teaching kids to appreciate and celebrate diversity is a top priority in today’s global landscape. These picture books will encourage my students to empathize with those who are different and celebrate the melting pot our country is!
