My Students

We have a wonderful 2nd grade class! They are kind, thoughtful, and love to learn together as a small community. They come to school ready to learn and to brave the new experiences ahead of them. We have been implementing technology reading programs into our classroom schedule along with Google Classroom. Students work really hard each day with comprehension, phonics, and fluency as they read picture and beginning chapter books. They love to have hands-on experience with numbers and shapes as they focus on the math standards.

My Project

This year our school has been given the opportunity to implement the use of individual laptops in the classroom. We use the laptops to do reading programs which are used daily to ensure substantial progress, including Lexia, Imagine Learning, and RAZ Kids. These programs all need to have students listen to commands, so headphones will help students concentrate on their own work. In the past, we have had many break, thus the reason for an additional five.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, but you will also ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

Students will be able to focus on their computer rather than being distracted by the sound of their neighbor's computer. Headphones are a great tool to help with focus and concentration. The two math manipulatives will support RTI groups as students can use and move the magnetic parts as needed. The materials will make a difference in student learning as they will keep them focused and engaged while providing an additional way to learn.
