Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our teenagers will not let anything stop them from doing their best and wanting to learn. They work hard and are excited to learn, but often, there is one critical thing in their way. Many of our students and their families are struggling financially and cannot afford groceries, let alone nutritious food. The cafeteria food is sometimes the only meal our students eat throughout their de snacks)ay. Without fulfilling the basic human need of hunger, our students oftentimes struggle to stay awake and give the lesson their full attention. Families simply cannot afford to send their students to school with healthy snacks. This directly impacts our students' learning.

The donation that you give will go towards purchasing a variety of healthy snacks for our classroom to help sustain our students in their early mentoring sessions, after-school activities, field trips, and moments throughout the day when they are simply too hungry to concentrate.

All human beings should have access to healthy food, no matter their financial status. Please help me give my students healthy snacks such as granola bars, chocolate chip cookies, Annie's organic cookies, and Edamame snacks.
