Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

First grade is an exciting year! Children have such a desire to learn new and fun things. Why not introduce them to the magical world of books?!

First graders are curious people who have the ability to learn about everything.

They're little sponges waiting to be submerged into a sea of knowledge. Learning new things comes natural at this age, so why not teach them the importance of loving a great story, a great book?!

My Project

I have moved into a bigger classroom, which will allow me to have a more comfortable reading area. The children will have a rug, some nice comfy cushions and a chair. This is where they can go when it's time to "Drop everything and read!" Where they can find the book that will take them away to that special place, that place where you can sometimes only go with a good book.

It's such fun to immerse yourself into the world of reading.

Books can take us where our imagination allows. Books allow us to be create colorful worlds where we can be who we want to be. That is what I want my children to learn. I want them to learn to love books as much as I do. I want to expand their vocabularies, their horizons. Please help me achieve that!
