This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting The Night Before Kindergarten books for my students. These materials are essential to my students' learning in my classroom. My students often struggle with language and literacy skills in my classroom. Since the pandemic hit our school and community, my students are at more of a risk for educational failure. The trauma and outpouring of help are critical during this time of rebuilding. My students will need extra support to build language and literacy skills.

My students will be able to language skills and reading skills.

I work in a Title I school and work with students who are "at-risk" for educational failure. Often times my families do not have resources for the students.

The donation of this project will help my students stay engaged and focused on reading and building their skills.

Imagine thousands of children coming to school that do not know what the letter A looks like. How are they supposed to succeed in our society when they lack the basic knowledge of letters, sounds, and communication especially now during a pandemic. Please help build my student's literacy skills in Kindergarten.
