My Project

I work at a K-8 school located on the Upper East Side. My second graders are the most amazing, passionate, curious thinkers, builders, and explorers. They are learning and growing every day. They enjoy coming to school, love all subjects, and have a desire to learn. They motivate me and enrich my passion for teaching. In an effort to close the achievement gap, I would like to provide my students with the resources to enhance learning opportunities.

These materials will assist students by ensuring they have the necessary materials to care for our class pets.

Students will learn and model daily how to tend to turtles, and even become experts as they learn information. These materials will ensure we have a suitable environment to ensure our class pets are healthy and comfortable.

These materials will aid students in showing responsibility, compassion, and respect.

Each day a student will ensure the turtles are fed. They will also make sure the heating lamp is turned on in the morning and turned off at the end of the day so the turtles are able to get the necessary warmth needed. Also, students will also assist in the cleaning of the tank so our turtles friends have a clean environment to live in. In addition, students will also practice handling the turtles with gentle hands.
