This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My school is located on the lower east side of NYC. Most of our students come from working-class families and have never participated in a school music program before. Our flagship Concert Band, a group with hybrid instrumentation, has been growing steadily over the past six years--but we have not been able to provide all of the instruments that our students have requested.

A new Tenor Saxophone would be an amazing addition to help to complete our woodwind section!

We currently have one tenor saxophone, but most of our musical arrangements are written for two tenor saxophones.
