My Project
My students motivate me each and every day. They are thoughtful, strong, funny, insightful, kind, driven young people who push me each and every day to be a better teacher, and a more socially conscious individual. They demand so much from me, as I do from them.
My students face a variety of challenges--they attend school in an underfunded district, in a city plagued by segregated violence, run by individuals who fail to acknowledge the link between the two.
Despite the shortcomings of many of the politicians and leaders around them, my students come to school each and every day with an eye toward the future. They work hard to do their best, overcoming obstacles no child should face as hurdles to education, shaping themselves to be the change-makers we need in our workplaces and public institutions.
These speakers will allow for us to hear videos and listen to music that gives us insight into the world in different ways. It also helps to build a classroom that has the resources our students deserve—they will see a well-equipped classroom as they enter each day!
