My Project

My students have a variety of academic, functional, and behavioral needs. Each student requires different accommodations during instruction and while working independently. This school year, we are moving to a different classroom and I hope to update some essential classroom items.

This project will allow me to increase flexible seating options, organize the limited space in the classroom, and add calming decor and lighting options.

We will replace the harsh fluorescent lights with light covers and string lights. This contributes to a calm learning environment, improving focus and reducing fatigue. As students work independently or at centers, comfortable, flexible seating options, including floor cushions, will allow them to remain engaged in learning. Additionally, items such as seat sacks and an organization cart will enable students to access items for day-to-day use in the classroom.
