This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

With all honesty, as teachers some days we need a very simple reminder. Yes! It can get really hard during those long summer and winter breaks, in order to be able to remember why we began teaching in the first place and why we actually love our student. When we take a moment and reflect on these reasons, we start to notice the good in our students and because of this we are able to be better educators and motivates us to be able to come up with the best learning strategies.

When students make me laugh, it always reminds me of how much I love them, and it’s the one thing that can turn a bad day around to a good day anytime.

When my students make me laugh is simply because they answer unexpectedly to the simple questions or because they tell their stories from beginning to end with a little extra sauce. In the end, there is never a dull moment.

Another reason why I love my students is that they teach me things. For instance, our conversations can turn into AHA! or even wow moments and we certainly experience learning in a whole new level.

My Project

New one of kind desks will allow my students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Our current desks do not provide my students to place their personal belongings under their own desk. However, these new desks will cover just that and more, due to the fact that they are even adjustable. This is perfect as some of my students will have the preference to either sit or stand. Furthermore, our old desks are not adjustable and are so 1990's. The bar height table will be used as a personal peer conference writing table, where students will be able to evaluate their partner's paper, revise, and edit at a specific location created just for them.

Classroom furniture is a physical point of contact between the student and the school.

The products that I have selected will help my students enormously as they will be able to see a new look in their classroom.
