This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our hybrid Concert Band/Jazz Band at Lower Manhattan Arts Academy (LoMA) High School, located on the lower east side of Manhattan and serving grade 9-12, has been growing steadily over the past six years. Many of the musical arrangements the performance band plays call for French Horn, but we currently do not have a French Horn in our inventory of school instruments.
A new French Horn would be an incredible addition to our existing instrumentation!
Since virtually all of our music students play on school-supplied instruments, this would likely be the only exposure most of our students would have to the beautiful sound of a French Horn.
