This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A fact about a Kindergarten classroom: A Kindergarten student spends a majority of their learning time sitting on the floor. This is true in my classroom, as I expect most of our learning to occur at the front of my classroom while my students sit on the floor. Ten years ago, when I first began teaching, I was able to purchase a new rug for my classroom. At this time, with fewer students on my roster, the rug I chose was sufficient. But fast forward a decade, all of my students don't have a spot to sit on. Class sizes have grown and I need more space for my students!

I am also changing the theme in my classroom.

The color scheme will be more neutral with more calming hues. The rug that has been selected would fit perfectly into my classroom. I can imagine the success of this rug and how it can change our carpet time completely!
