A New Canon DSLR to Capture Our Memories!

Help me give my students a great DSLR camera and accessories for our School Media class! We publish monthly newspapers and create our school yearbook.

My Project

I teach the School Media: Newspaper and Yearbook course and I also am the yearbook advisor at my school. We currently only have one compact, point and shoot camera to use to capture all the memories for both of our mediums. More than 20 students have to share this one camera. These images benefit our entire school population of 200 as well as staff and outside school community. In our class, I teach about basic photography skills and how to properly utilize a camera in manual mode for the best images possible.

Students currently do not have access to the technology to practice those skills, with this new Canon Rebel DSLR they will be able to master their new skills daily and take higher quality images for our school newspaper and yearbook than our current camera.

It also will allow multiple students to photograph different events at the same time which is easier to plan around and less stressful. My students would love to have access to the newest technology for introductory DSLRs. It will help ease them into photography from a journalist perspective and be able to hone in on their craft.
