I am a first year teacher in a 6:1:1 classroom of 3rd and 4th grade students diagnosed with Autism. Each student is our class a unique, charming individuals who are full of character! Each one of them brings so much joy to our classroom. I strive to give my students a variety of learning opportunities throughout the day so they can reach their full potential.
My students are visual, auditory, and tactile learners which requires an array of supplies to enrich classroom activities.
Coming into a new classroom, we lack a variety of supplies that our students need. The items requested will offer the students a multi-sensory education that children with Autism benefit greatly from. My Project
The materials and supplies I requested for my students such as the water exploration station will assist in their education with a multi-sensory approach, thus allowing them to learn through play. The dress boards will help my students develop skills to increase their independence such as zipping a coat or tying a shoe. The games will help develop turn taking and increase social interaction with their classmates. The weighted blanket will increase their focus and help calm them. The CD player will support student learning through music and movement. Each child with Autism is unique and requires differentiated instruction. These supplies will aid in developing fine motor, socialization, and cognitive skills. Please consider donating to my project.
