This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The different types of sensory items that I am requesting for my students will help provide some sensory input while they learn correct letter formation for handwriting. These materials are especially important for those students I currently see for Occupational Therapy that are having difficulties regulating their sensory systems and focusing. Evidence has shown that a multi-sensory approach to handwriting helps students learn these foundation skills for handwriting by using a variety of sensory modalities. It also helps to keep them engaged in tasks that may be difficult for them to perform.
