This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a special education teacher in a very low income neighborhood. I work with grades 1-5 grade teaching reading, writing, and math. My students are eager to learn. However, we are in need of a laptop that they can share and use when doing their work. A special needs student can use a laptop in the classroom to access various assistive technologies that can help them with note-taking, reading comprehension, spelling, organization, communication, and overall engagement, allowing them to participate more actively in class, improve their independence, and overcome challenges related to their disability, such as difficulties with handwriting, visual processing, or auditory processing; benefits include increased accessibility, personalized learning, reduced anxiety, and become more independent as well as feel more secure when they have to share their work.
