Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As we approach Mother's Day, I want to create a meaningful and creative opportunity for my students to express their love and gratitude for their mothers.

This year, I am proposing a painting project where each student will create a unique piece of art dedicated to their mom.

This project will encourage students to express their feelings and appreciation for their mothers through art. Also, it will foster creativity and artistic skills in each student as they work on their painting. Furthermore, it will provide an engaging, hands-on learning experience that combines art with personal reflection.

This project will give students the opportunity to spend time brainstorming and sketching ideas for their paintings, focusing on themes that represent their relationship with their mother, such as love, appreciation, and gratitude.

In addition, this activity will give students the opportunity to practice their writing. Students will write a heartfelt note or poem to accompany their painting, sharing why they chose that specific design and what their mom means to them. We will hold a small exhibition where students can present their artwork to classmates and share their notes.
