My Students
I teach seventh grade English in a middle school in NYC. One of the aspects I love best about my job and the specific neighborhood I teach in, is the diversity In the neighborhood. Many of the parents of my students are essential workers and have been hit hard by Covid and therefore have chosen to be taught fully remote this year. I teach ELA remotely to special education students and English language learners and need to see them in order to check for understanding.
Please help me see all my students faces while presenting my lesson to ensure they are all understanding.

My Project
I am requesting a monitor and cable. I am teaching seventh grade students who are all learning from home this year due to Covid. Having a second screen will allow me to monitor students' understanding and view them while I am presenting my lesson on my laptop.
Currently, when I present my slideshow to my students, I am not able to continue seeing them - which greatly hinders my ability to monitor their understanding of the material.
Having a second screen will make it almost as good as being in front of them in the classroom where I am able to continually view facial expressions and ask questions to those who may be confused. This is the one aspect of remote teaching that has been challenging for my and my students, and with your help, we can improve things! Thank you!
