Help me give my students more mindfulness and peace throughout their school day. This includes bean bag chairs, privacy screens, floor pillows, and more.
Support an amazing group of students to be more successful with a donation to this project. The students who this will serve are 9th-12th graders who are moderately to severely impacted by their disabilities. This year will be a big change for our classroom, as many of our friends graduated this last year and we welcome in a new group of freshmen.
Transitions can be difficult, which makes it even more important to focus on mindfulness and wellness.
The materials listed in this project (bean bag chairs, privacy screens, floor pillows, etc.) will support the students through this transition and attempt to bring a calming environment, while teaching valuable coping skills.
After visiting another school with a similar group of students and seeing their mindfulness routine, I felt inspired to create this project. With these supplies I hope to start a daily mindfulness routine where students sit back and relax, hopefully participating in a guided meditation. New spaces and routines can be tricky, but introducing purposeful mindfulness into our day will hopefully reduce the stress this can bring.
