My Project

Our vision for the upcoming STEAM Community Night in 2024 is bold and ambitious. We are determined to revitalize Norland by forging dynamic partnerships with local businesses and community leaders. Our goal is to bolster STEM education in our schools. Our vision is clear: to showcase Norland Middle School’s dynamic programs and establish a model STEAM Performing Arts school. Our focus is to inspire and propel students toward success in STEM fields.

We will include several hands-on activities and stations to showcase our STEAM lessons and activities in our Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics classrooms.

Our Science teachers will showcase the Bridge Built, Rocket Water Bottle, Science Boards, and our School Garden, and provide refreshments made by the students. We will showcase the lemonade stand next to our school garden and students involved will make various types of lemonade drinks. This will include mint infuse and strawberry lemonade.

We will have several demonstration stations that will consist of how to make natural juices with the fruits and veggies from the school garden, smoothies, sugar scrubs and body butter. Using some of the natural herbs from the gardens candles and wax melts

For the technology showcase, students will share their flyers, signs, and welcome banners using the Cricut Machine. They will also wear the various STEAM T-shirts, hats, and promotional items to showcase our programs.

Our Math Stations will include worksheets and hands-on activities, parent and student hands-on activities where students build a box, a cylinder, worksheets

Information on how we used ratios and proportional relationships to create lemonade drinks and smoothies.

We will include our engineering robotics field and an art gallery walk.

In closing, our community showcase night will bring the community at large together while building partnerships and sharing our Silver designation accomplishments and growth over the past two years.
