My Project

I’m excited to share with you the amazing students in my Geometry class and the special project we’re working on to celebrate the Lunar New Year! My students are diverse, bright, and incredibly hardworking. What I love most about them is their curiosity and eagerness to connect what they are learning to real-world experiences. Whether it’s through solving geometric equations or making real-world connections, my students truly embody the spirit of exploration.

As we approach the Lunar New Year, I want to celebrate the diversity in our classroom while also giving my students an opportunity to explore the beauty of Chinese culture.

My wonderful Co-Teacher, who is Chinese, has shared her traditions with us, and we’re eager to incorporate those into our classroom celebration. In NYC, where so many cultures intersect, this celebration is a chance to celebrate the diversity that makes our community so unique.

We're going to combine our love for Geometry with the traditions of Lunar New Year in a fun, interactive celebration! Students can earn prizes throughout the activities, creating a lively and engaging learning experience for all. The prizes I’m requesting are snacks to serve as rewards for my students as they successfully complete each task. These small treats will add an extra layer of excitement, helping to make the celebration feel truly festive and rewarding.

This celebration is more than just an event. It’s an opportunity for my students to learn about a rich cultural tradition while strengthening their understanding of geometry concepts. By tying the activities to the Lunar New Year, students will not only gain an appreciation for Chinese culture but also see how math is a universal language that connects all people. The snacks and prizes will add an element of fun and excitement, making the learning experience even more memorable.
