My Students

Do you remember what it was like to feel the pressure of state exams? Probably not, because when most of us grew up the pressure was not as strong. My students are amazing hardworking kids who love to read yet do not have the materials to keep them excited when preparing for the state exams.

My class is an amazing class of third grade honors students.

I taught them last year and I am looping with them. They are hard working kids who love reading! My kids go to NYC public schools and unfortunately the money is just not there to give them all that they need.

My Project

The books we asked for are all on my students' ever growing reading level. Our goal is to make reading and test prep fun and exciting by keeping them tuned into current events and biographies. These materials will help keep them in tune with what they need to know while still focusing on the state standards.

Please support my project, with all of the budget cuts made in NYC schools this year and even cuts to all teacher spending, it is virtually impossible for me to keep up with my students' love of reading.
